Creator Kit · The Spirit of 420
You Got the Bottle. Here's the Rest.
IV20 Terp Vodka is the Spirit of 420. This is everything you need to make something great with it — the story worth telling, the rules that keep us both safe, the angles that actually perform, and who to ask when you're unsure.
Welcome to the
IV20 Family.
If you're reading this, a box showed up with a joint-shaped bottle in it. That bottle is the whole idea — a premium, award-winning vodka in a package nobody scrolls past.
We launched on 4/20/24 as the Spirit of 420, and we're now in 250+ stores across three states. We're independent, veteran and minority-owned, and we got here because people picked the bottle up, filmed it, and told someone. That's the job.
This page replaces every PDF you may have been sent before. It's the only guide — bookmark it, because we keep it current rather than reprinting it.
- In your box1 × IV20 Terp Vodka, 750ml. Depending on your campaign, a Lux Puck and/or an SMK conversion kit may be included.
- Your jobMake content that feels like you. We are not looking for an advert — we're looking for the moment someone notices the bottle.
- Before you postRead the Non-Negotiables. They're short, and two of them are legal requirements rather than preferences.

IV20 — formerly IVeinte. Same founders, same bottle, same terpene blend; the name is now IV20 Spirits. You'll still see IVeinte on older labels, merch and creator posts, including some in this guide — that's expected. Always write it as “IV20” in your captions and tag @drinkiv20.
The Spirit
of 420.
Four things worth knowing before you film. Use whichever fits your video — you don't need all four, and none of them need reciting word for word.
Row & Steve
They met in the military nearly twenty years ago, went separate ways, and reconnected through business in 2015. IV20 is a veteran and minority-owned brand — that's not a marketing line, it's who signs the cheques.
The R&D behind the blend
Years of late nights on a terpene blend that tasted like nothing else on the shelf — distilled six times, filtered thirty-two, and reworked until the citrus and pine sat right with a genuinely clean finish. The bottle was engineered alongside it, to be kept rather than binned. It launched on April 20, 2024.
The meaning behind IV20
"IV" is the Roman numeral for four. "20" completes 420.
IV20 brings cannabis culture and craft spirits together — right down to the bottle design.
It won things immediately
SIP Awards Gold and Double Platinum in year one. Lead with the flavour; let the awards back it up.

The
Non-Negotiables.
IV20 is an alcohol brand, and creator content comes with rules — including FTC requirements around sponsored and gifted content. These aren't just house rules. They help keep your content, you, and IV20 compliant.
If we sent you product, paid you, or you earn commission from your content, that relationship needs to be clearly disclosed. And if a post crosses any of the lines below, we may need to ask you to edit or remove it.
Give these a read before you hit publish.
1 · Disclose the relationship. Every time.
If IV20 sent you a product, paid you, or you can earn commission from your post, the FTC considers that a material connection and it needs to be clearly disclosed. Make the disclosure easy to notice and understand — not buried at the bottom of your caption or hidden behind "more". Full guidance in Disclosure.
Use — "Ad", "Sponsored", "Paid partnership with IV20", or a clear statement such as "IV20 gifted me this bottle." Don't rely on — vague wording like "collab", "ambassador", or "thanks IV20" by itself.2 · Never say or imply IV20 contains THC or CBD
This is the one that ends relationships. Terpenes are flavour and aroma compounds. IV20 is legal vodka and produces no cannabis-like effect of any kind.
Say — "Terpene-infused. It tastes like nothing else. No THC, no CBD." Never — "It gets you that 420 feeling", "weed vodka", "infused with cannabis", "hits different".3 · Never combine or sequence it with cannabis on camera
Do not film smoking and drinking together, and don't suggest doing both. No "pair it with", "chase it with", "one then the other". The line is combined use — not cannabis itself.
OK — demonstrating the SMK on a finished bottle, cannabis included, as its own standalone post. Never — cannabis, smoking or the SMK in the same video as a pour, a drink or a full bottle.4 · 21+ only, in every frame
Everyone visible must be of legal drinking age and look it. No content that appeals to under-21s: no cartoons, no school or youth-culture references, no trends whose audience skews young. Set your platform age-gating where it's available.
5 · No health, wellness or performance claims
Not "clean", not "healthier", not "no hangover", not "helps you relax", not "gluten-free benefits". Describe taste and occasion only.
6 · Keep it fun. Keep it responsible.
No drinking contests, "blackout", "wasted", or "hammered" content. Never show or suggest drinking and driving, dangerous behaviour, or excessive consumption. IV20 is about enjoying the moment, not overdoing it.
7 · When in doubt, ask first
A ten-minute question is cheaper than a takedown. Send it to us before it goes live.
Presenting
the Bottle.
The bottle does most of the work. Your job is to not get in its way.
Do
- Show the full silhouette early — the shape is the hook, and it reads in under a second.
- Keep the label facing camera and unobstructed when the bottle is still.
- Hold it by the body, low, so your hand doesn't cover the IV20 mark.
- Shoot in portrait 9:16. Almost all of our best-performing content is vertical.
- Use real light — a window, a lamp, or the Lux Puck in a dim room.
- Keep the bottle clean and dry on camera; fingerprints show badly on white.
- Say the name out loud once: "IV20 Terp Vodka."
- Show the pour. Liquid moving is what stops the scroll.
Don't
- Don't crop the bottle so the shape is unreadable — it just looks like a white bottle.
- Don't shoot the bottle, a pour or a drink next to competitor bottles or cannabis product — cannabis only belongs in standalone SMK content.
- Don't film it in a car, ever, even parked.
- Don't use heavy filters that turn the white bottle grey or green.
- Don't cover the label with your hand, a sticker or a caption box.
- Don't show an open flame near the bottle for effect.
- Don't shoot the empty bottle as a conversion piece in the same video as the pour.
- Don't re-post someone else's IV20 footage as your own.
Lighting It,
and the Lux Puck.
The single most repeatable piece of IV20 content: the bottle lit from underneath in a dark room. It looks like the ember end of a lit joint, which is exactly the point.
Kill the room light
The effect only reads in low light. Turn the overheads off and let the bottle be the brightest thing in frame. A little ambient light behind you stops it looking like a black void.
Sit the bottle on the Lux Puck
The Lux Puck is IV20's signature collectible — a round base the bottle stands on. Switch it on, centre the bottle, and the light travels up through the amber base so the bottle appears lit from within.
Shoot slightly below eye line
Camera a touch lower than the bottle's midpoint exaggerates the glow and the silhouette. Move slowly — a slow push-in or orbit beats a static shot every time.
Expose for the glow, not the room
Lock exposure on the bottle. If your phone keeps brightening the background, tap-and-hold on the bottle to lock it, then recompose.
Why it works
The lit base is what makes the bottle read as a "lit joint" rather than just a white bottle. Several of our best-performing creator posts are simply this shot, held for four seconds, with a caption. It costs nothing to make and it's instantly recognisable as IV20.
Keep it dry and keep it safe
The Lux Puck is an electronic accessory. Keep liquid off it, wipe spills immediately, and don't submerge it or run it under a tap. Never use a candle or open flame to imitate the effect.
How to
Pour It.
Terpene-forward with citrus brightness and a soft pine lift — it sips clean neat or over ice, which is still the fastest way to show the flavour on camera. Below are the four official IV20 cocktails, led by our signature, the Lemon Dope Drop. Use these names: they're the ones on our menu and the ones people search for. Single serves only on camera.
Lemon Dope Drop
- 2 oz IV20 Terp Vodka
- ½ oz triple sec
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- Sugar rim
- Lemon wheel to garnish
The signature serve. Bright, sharp and the one to lead with — the sugar rim gives you a close-up before the first sip.
Buddy Mary
- 1½ oz IV20 Terp Vodka
- 3 oz tomato juice
- ⅓ oz fresh lemon juice
- 5 dashes Tabasco
- 3 dashes Worcestershire
- ½ tsp horseradish
- Salt and pepper to taste
The brunch serve. Savoury enough that the pine and herbal notes read as seasoning rather than sweetness, and it garnishes well on camera.
420H20
Recipe to confirm — send it across and it drops straight in.
The clean one. Clear over crushed ice with lime and mint, so the terpene lift comes through with nothing competing — and it films bright in daylight.
Kotton Kandy Mouth
- 1.5 oz IV20 Terp Vodka
- Red Bull, to top
- Crushed ice, copper mug
- Lime wheel and mint to garnish
The high-energy serve. Two ingredients, so it films in a single unbroken shot — and the copper mug frosts up beautifully on camera.
The SMK — empty bottles only
The Smokers Mod Kit converts a finished bottle into a collectible piece. Film it as its own post, separate from any drinking content — never in the same video as a pour, a drink or a full bottle, and never implying combined use. Inside a standalone SMK post you can show cannabis: demonstrating the kit is the entire point of the post. Assembly steps live on the SMK assembly guide.
Angles That
Actually Work.
Drawn from what has already performed for IV20 creators. Pick one per post — the ones that flop usually try to do all six at once.
The Reveal
Box to bottle in one unbroken shot. The shape does the work — no explanation needed for the first three seconds.
First Taste
Genuine reaction to a neat pour. Unscripted beats scripted. If you don't like it, tell us privately rather than faking it.
The Build
A simple two- or three-ingredient serve, filmed top-down. Bartender-style content consistently over-performs for us.
The Glow
Dark room, Lux Puck on, slow push-in. Short, loopable, and unmistakably IV20.
The Party Piece
The bottle on a table with friends around it, and the moment someone picks it up and asks what it is. That reaction is the ad.
Gift & Occasion
Birthdays, housewarmings, 4/20, holidays. "The bottle they'll talk about long after it's empty" is a real gifting angle.

What Tends
to Flop.
None of these are bans — they're patterns that have consistently under-performed, plus two that create compliance problems.
The bottle arrives at second 20
Long intros kill it. If the bottle isn't on screen inside three seconds, most of the audience never sees it. Lead with the object.
Reading the spec sheet
"Distilled six times, filtered thirty-two times, 40% ABV…" is a caption, not a script. Lead with taste and reaction; let the facts support.
Static product shots with no hands
A bottle on a table performs poorly. A bottle being picked up, poured, or handed to someone performs well. Movement and hands.
Over-produced ad energy
Polished, agency-looking spots get scrolled. The content that works looks like a person showing a friend something.
Reducing it to a weed gag
Beyond being a compliance problem, it flattens the brand. The bottle already makes the reference — you don't need to say it, and saying it costs us the premium positioning that makes IV20 worth posting.
Burying or skipping the disclosure
Disclosure hidden in a hashtag wall or below the fold isn't disclosure. It's also the single fastest way to get a post pulled.
Filters that change the bottle
Heavy grading turns the white bottle grey, green or blue and it stops being recognisable. Keep the bottle true to colour.
Copying another creator's video beat for beat
The algorithm has already seen it. Take the angle, not the edit.
Handles &
Hashtags.
Tag the account on the platform you're posting to — not just in the caption. If we're not tagged, we can't repost you, and reposting is most of the value we can hand back.
Required — every post
- Instagram@drinkiv20 — tag in the post and the first Story frame.
- TikTok@drinkiv20 — mention in caption, and tag the product where available.
- YouTube@drinkiv20 — link drinkiv20.com in the description.
- Facebook@drinkiv20
- Linkdrinkiv20.com — or your personal code link if you have one.
Hashtags
Tap to copy. Use the three core tags on every post, then two or three from the rest — not all of them.
Core tags are drawn from IV20's own published creator posts. Disclosure tags are covered separately below and are not optional.
Disclosure.
If we gave you product or money, your audience has to know — that's an FTC requirement, not an IV20 preference. It protects you more than it protects us: the penalties for undisclosed endorsements land on the creator.
Which tag to use
#gifted — we sent you product and nothing else, with no obligation to post.
#ad or #sponsored — you were paid, or you're posting to a brief, or you earn commission on a code.
If you have a discount code that pays you, that's #ad. Every time.
Where it goes
At the front of the caption, before the "more" cut — not at the end of a hashtag block. On video, use the platform's paid-partnership label as well, and say it out loud if the post is a spoken review. On Stories, put it on the first frame, not the last.
Also required
Follow the platform's own branded-content rules and set the paid partnership toggle where one exists. Add age-gating on the post where the platform offers it. And keep the 21+ line in the caption when you're describing the drink itself.
Caption you can copy
#ad — Thanks @drinkiv20 for sending this over. IV20 Terp Vodka, 21+, please enjoy responsibly. #IV20TerpVodka
